Membership of 3CR

3C Research is a not-for-profit members company.  It supports collaborative research projects involving universities and commercial organisation, both large and small in the fields of digital media and communications.

3CR members can come from any industry that sees new media and communication as a significant aspect of their business.  Some key sectors are:

Funding Opportunities

• 3CR maintains an active programme of reviewing funding calls from the DTI Technology Programme, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Councils, Arts and Humanities Research Council and European Framework Programmes.  
• 3CR jointly with project members, evaluates new research project opportunities and acts as lead company in putting together funding proposals and completing application forms.

Research Project Participation

• Collaborative projects with multiple partners can be complex and time-consuming to manage.  3CR provides project management skills to allow project participants to concentrate on research.
• 3CR has the financial skills to manage grants and project finances on behalf of project members.
• Complex IP ( Intellectual Property) issues can result when commercial organisations work together on a research project.  In association with Patent Attorneys, Murgitroyd, 3CR has developed an IP management infrastructure to help assist with these issues.
• 3CR has employed the specialist services of a group of entrepreneurs to assist project members in assessing the market potential of project results.  
• Members have early access to project information (subject to agreement from members of individual projects) for the purpose of following technology trends and gaining future market knowledge.

Networking

• 3CR is committed to developing a Creative Technology Network, a community dedicated to networking, research collaboration and innovation which connects organisation and individuals across media, technology, science and the arts in the fields of creative technology.
• 3CR members have the opportunities to meet other members at 3CR events or via the members' area of the website for the purpose of enhancing business-to-business and business-to-university relationships.
