Technology Programme
Over the period 2005-2008, £320 million is available to businesses in the form of grants to support research and development in the technology areas identified by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB). In the Spring and Autumn each year, businesses have the opportunity to compete for funding for Collaborative Research and Development projects.
Autumn 2007 call - Phase 3 of this call is open
There are seven technology areas, phased as follows:
Phase 1
Opens 8 November 2007 / Closes 14 February 2008

Phase 2
Opens 19 December 2007 / Closes 27 March 2008
- Low Carbon Energy Technologies
- Advanced Lighting, Lasers and Displays
- Technologies for Health

The competition opened on 24th April 2007 and the submission for outline applications is 18th June 2007. The Technology Priority Areas are :

- Plastic Electronics: Materials Processing and Systems Integration

Funding Opportunities
3CR is interested in hearing from companies wishing to participate in a collaborative research and development projects. If you want to discuss a project proposal or idea please contact us.
For background information, please note that:
- 3CR would like bids to lie between £1m and £3m (total project costs) with between 75% and 25% being donated by industry (depending on the type of research undertaken) and have a duration of between 1 year and 2 years. Project partners can consist of business and University (B2S) or only businesses (B2B).
- In the case of advanced research and experimental development projects (as defined by the DTI) there must be an Industry lead partner who has a good understanding of the commercialisation route for the results of the research.
- Bids will only succeed which score highly against the criterion of the call.
