3C Research supports collaborative research projects involving universities and commercial organisations, both large and small, in the fields of digital media and communications. 3CR creates an environment where a wide variety of industry players come together to share their perspectives and skills in order to understand emerging markets and to create and realise new solutions.
In July 2007, 3CR and Watershed founded the Creative Technology Network (CTN). The aim of CTN is to bring together individuals and organisations from across computing, communications and the creative industries. With a focus on cross-sector networking and collaboration, the year-round programme of events, workshops and showcases seeks to establish an active community from across academia, industry and the arts, to share good practice, support innovation and enhance research.
On 16 June 2009 the Technology Strategy Board launched its Innovation Strategy for the Creative Industries which sets out recommendations for future focus and investment to support creative industries and digital media businesses.
On 16th June 2009, the Government published the Digital Britian Report.
